The late afternoon light playing on this Southport cottage demanded that I stop and do a final painting for the day. I like to create the impression of victorian details without belaboring them. A few calligraphic flourishes were the final touches to this painting.

Living in Maine, its coastline offers an infinite source of inspiration and subject material, while teaching assignments and travels give him the opportunity to explore and paint other exciting areas of the globe.
